Alliance Perpetual Benefit Building Society was established in 1854 and was renamed Alliance Perpetual Building Society in 1954. It subsequently transferred its engagements to Leek & Westbourne Building Society in 1968 and, through subsequent mergers and acquisitions, is now part of Coventry Building Society.
