Dorchester Building Society was the name used by Dorchester and County of Dorset Economic Benefit Building Society for several decades prior to its formal renaming in 1964 according to the Building Societies Association. In 1966, it transferred its engagements to Bristol & West Building Society and is now part of Coventry Building Society.
