History

Oldbury Britannia Building Society was established in 1909 as Golders Green Building Society. It was renamed Britannia Building Society in 1946 and subsequently renamed Oldbury Britannia Building Society in 1955. It later transferred its engagements to Leek, Westbourne & Eastern Counties Building Society in 1974 and, through subsequent mergers and acquisitions, is now part of Coventry Building Society.
